Projects and Research / Co-founder

Nkiene is a passionate secondary and high school teacher in geography, as well as a researcher and consultant on environmental issues. As a co-founder of GYSUD, he plays a critical role in advancing sustainable development through research and field projects.

He believes that empowering society with environmental knowledge leads to improved wellbeing for individuals, communities, and the planet.

In addition to teaching, Nkiene is a published contributor to issues related to the environment and sustainable development. He has been named Best Geography Teacher for three consecutive years.

He holds a BSc in Geography, an MSc in Biogeography and Climatology (focused on climate change), and a second MSc in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development. He is currently pursuing his PhD.
